My abstract series "Earth" is inspired by hikes through birch forests and climbing colorful rock formations of the American North East. Through lines and color I hope to create a visual appreciation of Nature using soulful landscape imagery. Working in the belief that Nature is fluid, organic and ever-changing, and by noting color and light to capture harmonious compositions based on the simple concept anywhere you look in Nature is perfect.
All work is created with respectful and devotional intent, and I use observation and simplicity to capture the essence of form. It is important these works are small in size, and original not reproduced or reprinted in order to avoid waste. I choose environmentally friendly materials in the belief we must learn to make careful choices in our lives and creations in the spirit of sustainability.
materials: milk paint, chalk paint, birch bark (from felled trees), and varnished with wax on wood panels
