Carrie Barcomb's work evokes atmosphere, emotion, and the enduring power of myth, inviting reflection and offering a sense of peace.

"Fine artist Carrie Barcomb allows nature to serve as muse, gliding her brush strokes to capture landscapes lying in wait for interpretation. Raised alongside waterways near the mouth of the Chesapeake Bay in Maryland, she grew up understanding the stillness of the landscape and the tranquility and stability it offered juxtaposed with the transitory footprint of humanity.

Rande Styger

"I was blown away by your gorgeous canvases - I was drawn to the glorious light you capture in your work - whether the soft subtle light at dawn, or the glorious golden hues instilled by the setting sun - all seem to me to infuse your work with a sense of life and peaceful beauty."

Carrie Barcomb is a Pennsylvania-based painter. Born near the Chesapeake Bay, Maryland, she creates expressive oil and handmade acrylic paintings that explore transformation, femininity, and the fluid rhythms of nature. She graduated from the Maryland Institute College of Art in 1994, and her work is held in collections throughout the United States and Europe. She completed an artist residency in Iceland in 2021, where the stark, elemental landscape deepened her engagement with themes of impermanence and the unseen forces of nature. From the Adirondacks to coastal Maine, her landscape subjects are diverse, and her process is intuitive. As a trained tall ship crew member, she is currently exploring maritime themes—channeling the mythical, emotional, and physical power of the sea. In her work, Carrie invites reflection and connection, inspired by a deep reverence for nature.
